About Us

The Sturgeon family created Creekside Cottage and Creekside Place with founding values that support a compassionate community. Since 2011, we have strived to develop our caregiving techniques, to establish and support the super stars that make up our team, and to grow as a respectful and kind community.  Our two elder care homes, nestled side by side along the Washington Creek in Petaluma, are thriving and peaceful facilities licensed for 6 residents each, with a focus on Alzheimer’s and dementia care, hospice and respite care.

Berkley Sturgeon has extensive experience in management and marketing in the auto industry, and enjoys helping people from diverse backgrounds. Berkley is at heart a caregiver coach and has developed many skills to train and support our team, applying his Positive Approach to Care knowledge on a daily basis.

Kelly Sturgeon earned her B.A. degree in Music from Chico State University with an emphasis on art song history and performance. Kelly applied her experience with music as Director of Therapeutic Activities at skilled nursing homes in Oakland and San Francisco. She then completed her Law Degree at Golden Gate University and became a licensed attorney in 1999, focused on elder care advocacy. Developing care homes that are dedicated to best practices in the care of our elders has been very satisfying for her.
